It always intrigues me what inspires designers when they do their thing. So when I hear a good solid story behind-the-scenes, I like to share it. Like the Whirlpool Chaac Water Dispenser, it’s been inspired by the Mayan Water God and modern Mexican society. Apparently Chaac (the Maya rain deity) strikes the clouds and produces thunder and rain. On a not-so-dramatic-note, the carbon filter of this system purifies tap water and the inbuilt-sensor dispenses the appropriate amount of water by judging the size of the glass. Anyways, I like the sleek style and mystic story.
